Lagardère Travel Retail in Pacific opens 4 new stores in Sydney Airport T2
Lagardère Travel Retail has successfully opened 4 new stores in Sydney Airport’s T2 redevelopment. Following a competitive tender in late 2017, Lagardère Travel Retail were awarded 5 Travel Essential sites in Sydney Airport T2. The 5 concessions cover over 674sqm retail space across both Pier A and Pier B; four sites in Airside Departures and one in Landside Arrivals.
Showcasing the latest RELAY and NewsLink design concepts, 3 RELAY stores and 1 NewsLink store have opened, all with a key focus on one-stop shopping for the passengers travelling through Sydney Airport T2. The final store, Hub Convenience will open late April 2019.

Opening in Pier B is the 219sqm flagship RELAY store showcases the latest global evolution of RELAY, along with an 85sqm RELAY kiosk. The new stores feature a bespoke design, a new colour scheme dominated by a light ivory and warm wooden surfaces while maintaining the RELAY red as a signal and accent colour, optimised and exclusive products and promotions, the latest in digital communications both in-store and on the lease line to promote value propositions and store penetration, and a strong and comprehensive print range driven by new and innovative promotions.
In Pier A, a 250sqm flagship NewsLink store and a satellite 100sqm RELAY kiosk have opened. The newly designed NewsLink layout features clear ‘slow and fast zones’ with easy store navigation, complemented by a store design tailored to match the stunning and vibrant new environment at Sydney T2 to capture the Airport’s vision for a premium retail offering.
All stores offer market leading and in-depth range of books, news and convenience items, an extensive selection of snacks, beverages, gifts & souvenirs and key travel essential items such as headphones and adapters. The Top 50 reads and a Travelwell column are some of the unique features of the RELAY design, along with clear key category navigation.
With an increased number of travellers through Sydney T2, all products and services have been thoughtfully curated specifically for the passenger profile of both Pier A and Pier B.
Lagardère Travel Retail operate 17 stores across the three terminals in Sydney Airport covering Travel Essentials, Duty Free & Fashion concepts and Foodservices.
