Lagardère Travel Retail launches with traditional ceremony
Lagardère Travel Retail officially launch 3 new stores in Auckland International Airport.
Celebrating the official opening of 2 specialty stores, TikiTour and Official All Blacks Store together with the newly refreshed RELAY, the teams from Lagardère Travel Retail, Auckland Airport and New Zealand Rugby came together for a traditional Maori Karakia (blessing) by the local Kaumatua of Iwi Te Akitai Waiohua and formal ribbon cutting ceremony.
Speaking of the occasion, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Pacific said “It is very special to be sharing this traditional celebration with our team and landlord partner. Our aim was to bring a new step in specialty world class retail offer to Auckland Airport, with a strong local sense of place, and we believe both TikiTour and Official All Blacks provide this to those travelling and visiting Auckland Airport, so it was only appropriate celebrate with local tradition”.

”Richard Barker and Przemek Lesniak shared the official ribbon cutting duties following the Karakia outside each of the 3 stores, firstly, the 80sqm All Blacks storewhich celebratesthe “power and passion” behind theworld champs.
TikiTourrecreates the traditional summer road trip, and this 144m2 retail store, the largest Gift & Souvenir concept in Auckland Airport, provides visitors to New Zealand a high quality, creative and quintessentially Kiwi retail offer in a personalized store environment.
This RELAY store is representativeof the newly refreshed worldmarket leading RELAYstores to be rolled out in the Pacific.
The 3 stores are all located on Level 1 of Auckland Airport’s International Terminal Building before the new customs and security screening, making it accessible to both travelling passengers and public.
